Environmental services
The Department of Environmental Services (DES) ensures professional tasks in the field of Environmental impact assessment (EIA/SEA), Environmental burdens (EB), Environmental damage (ED), Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) and Prevention of serious industrial accidents (PSIA) . It cooperates in the preparation of laws, decrees and other legal regulations, prepares expert opinions and assessments for the supervisor, cooperates in the creation of methodological manuals in the subject areas. Employees of this department are members of expert groups and committees of EU states, actively participate in international working sessions (EC, JRC EC, EEA, EIONET, Common Forum). The department operates information systems (EIA/SEA, EB, IPPC, PSIA, ED) which serve to collect information and provide environmental data and information to international institutions (EC, EEA, OECD, UNEP, UNECE), state administration, entrepreneurs and the professional public. Employees of this department organize conferences at the national and international level, arrange bilateral meetings, organize trainings mainly for the state administration, but also for local governments, entrepreneurs, professionals and the general public, are involved in the preparation and implementation of national and international environmental projects, and provide consulting and advisory services.
