About SEA

The Slovak Environment Agency (SEA) is a professional organization of the Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic (MoE SR) with a national scope, focused on caring for the environment and creating the landscape in accordance with the principles of sustainable development. SEA fulfills its mission through 5 professional sections.

The Slovak Minister of Environment´s Decision established the agency, May 17, 1993 as a budgetary organization of MoE SR. SEA started to administer its task on July 1, 1993. Since January 1, 2001, SEA has been modified to a contributory organization of MoE SR.

The Slovak Environment Agency was awarded quality management system and environmental management system certificates according to ISO 9001 and 14001 standards in 2005.
