Environmental education and training
The role of Slovak Environment Agency (SEA) is to increase the environmental awareness of the public through a comprehensive offer of non-formal environmental education, training and awareness programs. It provides practical, methodological, publishing, project and conceptual activities in this area. SEA organizes educational and information events, cooperates with interested ministries, institutions and non-governmental organizations in Slovakia and abroad. It implements tasks in accordance within the Environmental Strategy 2030, the Departmental Conception of Environmental Education up to 2025 and the internal Conception of Environmental Education in SEA up to 2030.
SEA provides the environmental education and training at the national and regional level through:
- Department of Environmental Education - national level
- Environmental Education Center Dropie - regional level
SEA is a partner of a project Climate change and environment education centre (Living Lab) in Dropie which aim is to create a demonstration ecocentre with implemented adaptation and mitigation measures, which will serve the general public. As far content is as important as the form, the second main activity is the creation of a Climate Education Program for kindergartens, elementary and secondary schools, a workshop for university students and a practical workshop for key actors in the country - self-governments, farmers and so on.
The target group are schools (kindergarten, primary, secondary), coordinators and professionals in environmental education, employees of the state administration of environmental care and also the general public.
